I am an Exercise Physiologist with a degree from Auburn University. War Eagle! I was an All SEC and Academic All American Runner for Auburn. I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and now I live with my husband, Michael, and our children Ashley and Scott in Sugar Hill, GA.
I have been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, through the National Strength and Conditioning Association since 2002.
I began my personal training profession as an exercise specialist for Wellstar Health System. I worked at Health Place, Wellstar’s hospital wellness center for 3 years. At Health Place I trained clients of all ages (10 – 90) and abilities (beginner to advanced). I worked with several special populations, including people dealing with diabetes, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, eating disorders, and pre and post-natal women. I also trained athletes, especially runners, and members looking to lose pounds, inches, and body fat.
After gaining much valuable experience at Wellstar, I began working as the Downtown Athletic Club’s Program and Fitness Director in Pittsburgh, PA. I supervised seven personal trainers and four group exercise instructors. I implemented a new, updated fitness evaluation format and several new fitness programs and challenges.
Now I work for myself and I love it! Currently I train in my home studio and in my clients’ homes. Clients train either by themselves, with a friend or spouse, or with a few friends. I teach classes, such as “Crazy Core”, “Body Blast”, and “Moms and Babes” (a stroller class) in the surrounding communities. Right now I specialize in training pre and post natal women, runners, and individuals interested in weight loss.
